Outsourced Accounts Preparation

Hand your year-end to a UK team that gets accounts prepared, approved and filed on time, every time — with Companies House and HMRC handled for you.

Year-end accounts are high-stakes and low-reward for a busy management team: miss the deadline and penalties are automatic; get the numbers wrong and lenders, HMRC and your own decisions suffer. Our outsourced year-end accounts preparation service takes the whole job off your desk — statutory, management and iXBRL accounts prepared under UK GAAP (FRS 105, FRS 102 including Section 1A) or IFRS, from whatever records you keep, followed by the filings themselves.

For accountancy firms and finance teams, the same service works as white-label capacity: send us the trial balance and working papers, and receive review-ready accounts back to your timetable.

Why Outsource Your Year-End Accounts?

- Cost: pay for accounts production only when you need it, instead of carrying the overhead of in-house expertise used a few weeks a year - Quality: every set of accounts is prepared and reviewed by experienced UK-based staff who do this all day, under current standards — including the FRS 102 revenue and lease changes effective from January 2026 - Certainty: deadline tracking with reminders means the 9-month Companies House window and your tax deadlines are never at risk - No key-person risk: illness or resignation in your finance team no longer threatens your filing calendar - Integration: our tax team prepares the CT600 from the same figures, so accounts and tax return always agree

What the Service Includes

- Statutory accounts under FRS 105, FRS 102 (full or Section 1A) or IFRS, from trial balance or raw records - Filleted or micro-entity filing versions to keep public disclosure minimal where you qualify - Directors' reports and strategic reports where required - Management accounts and year-end packs for boards, lenders and investors - iXBRL tagging and validation for HMRC and Companies House - Corporation tax return (CT600) preparation and submission - Filing at Companies House and HMRC, with confirmations to you

How It Works

1. Handover: we take your records in any state — Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, spreadsheets or a folder of paperwork 2. Review and queries: we reconcile key balances and send you one consolidated query list, not a drip-feed of emails 3. Draft accounts: prepared under the right standard, with the adjustments bookkeeping misses — accruals, prepayments, depreciation, stock and provisions 4. Approval: a clear explanation of the numbers before you sign, including anything that affects tax 5. Filing: iXBRL-tagged accounts to Companies House and HMRC, inside every deadline

Most engagements settle into a rhythm where year two is faster and cheaper than year one, because we tidy the underlying records as we go.

The Deadlines We Protect

- Companies House accounts: 9 months after year end for private companies (21 months from incorporation for first accounts); automatic penalties of £150 to £1,500 for late filing, doubled if late two years running - Corporation tax payment: 9 months and 1 day after the end of the accounting period - Company tax return (CT600): 12 months after the end of the accounting period

We plan preparation backwards from the earliest deadline and keep you informed at every stage — the no-surprises approach that clients value most.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When are my company accounts due?
Private companies must file accounts at Companies House within 9 months of the year end — or 21 months from incorporation for the first accounts. Corporation tax is payable 9 months and 1 day after the year end, and the CT600 return is due within 12 months. We track all three deadlines and start work early enough to leave comfortable margin.
What records do you need from us?
Whatever you have. Ideally access to your accounting software (Xero, Sage or QuickBooks) plus bank statements and key documents; but we also work from spreadsheets and even paper records. After an initial review we send a single consolidated list of queries and missing items, so the demands on your time are minimal and predictable.
Do you file the accounts for us?
Yes. Once you approve the accounts we file the iXBRL-tagged versions with Companies House and submit the CT600 with tagged accounts and computations to HMRC, then send you the acceptance confirmations. You sign; we do everything else.
Can you work alongside our own bookkeeper or finance team?
Absolutely — that is the most common arrangement. Your team keeps the day-to-day records and we take over at year end: reviewing the trial balance, posting year-end adjustments, preparing the accounts and handling the filings. We also feed back record-keeping improvements that make next year smoother.
How much does outsourced accounts preparation cost?
It depends on the size and state of your records, the reporting framework and whether tax work is included, so we quote a clear fee before any work starts — no hourly-rate surprises. Because our delivery is on-demand and UK-based, you get senior-level quality without paying for capacity you do not use.
What if my accounts are already overdue?
Move quickly — Companies House penalties escalate from £150 to £1,500 the longer you wait, and HMRC adds its own penalties for late returns. Late jobs are routine for us: we prioritise overdue accounts, prepare and file fast, and where appropriate help with penalty appeals if you had a reasonable excuse.
